Diary of an Operation Red Nose Mascot

I am Rudy, the Operation Red Nose Mascot and this is a little peek into my world. Each year around the start of November, Operation Red Nose kicks into gear to help keep the streets of Nanaimo safe from impaired drivers. I am there front and center for the entire event, and this year I'd like you to come along with me.

Revving Up Red Nose

The work of a Mascot is never done. Today I’m pumping gas at Mid-Island CO-OP. With me are Mid-Island CO-OP’s Community Relations Manager, Nicole Shaw (centre) and PacificSport Communications Coordinator, Allison Parsley (right).
To date Red Nose volunteers have driven over 8200 km to keep Nanaimo's roads safe. Each year CO-OP supports Operation Red Nose through donated fuel vouchers to reimburse those volunteer drivers for their fuel expenses.
